California Baptist University located in Riverside, CA is gearing up for an exciting baseball season. With the help of our Nuevo farm, the university has renovated the infield of the John Funk Stadium. The stadium was completed in 2007 as part of the school’s outdoor athletic complex and was in need of a fresh new infield for the upcoming season that was to get underway in six short days.
Completed in one day, the install included 8,000 sq. ft. of Tifway premium Hybrid Bermuda grass installed on the infield. Interesting about this install, it featured our big roll cut that was harvested with a 1-inch thickness. This extra thick cut made for a more durable playing surface that can stand up to high-levels of play, and can be used in a shorter period of time from installation date, which was a major factor in getting ready for the school’s baseball season.
A-G Sod Farms – Nuevo sales representative Aaron Taylor was on site to coordinate this project to ensure its successful completion. The project was completed in just one day by our installation crew and was ready for play just six short days later.
